How To Make Money Like A Shark

How To Make Money Investing Like The Sharks

Behind the Scene's Interview with the Shark Tank Investors
Investing like the Sharks on Shark Tank do.
.Multi-Millionaire and Billionaire
Sharks on the Shark Tank
I ran across this very interesting behind the scene's Video featuring 5 of the Sharks on the Shark Tank Show discussing what it's really like to invest the way they do. If you have any dreams or desires to ever get on the Shark Tank, or how to start making money like the Sharks do, this is one video you most definitely will be interested in watching.

All five of the Shark's Mark Cuban, Daymond John, Kevin O'Leary, Barbara Corcoran and Robert Herjevic were present for this Interview, leaving Lori Greiner the only Shark not present on the stage. This might only be a 16 minute video but its jam packed full of good information for all past, present and future contestants. The Sharks actually talk about a few entrepreneurs and certain products without mentioning name's as if by some kind of code, but if you're a Big Shark Tank Fan, you'll know exactly who they're referring to.

Mod Mom Furniture Update

Mod Mom Furniture after the Shark Tank

Modern Toy Boxes - Season 2 - Episode 203 - Update

Mod Mom Toy Boxes from shark Tank Season 2
Mod Mom Kiersten Hathcock on the
Shark Tank Show
The more I keep learning about Kiersten Hathcock and the Mod Mom Furniture Business the more I'm not even sure where to begin about this incredible small business started in the garage and now known around the world. Sure a lot of Entrepreneur's start small businesses in their garages every day that never make it to the Shark Tank, but whats so unique about Kiersten and the Mod Mom Furniture Business that's propelled her to a level she could of only dreamt about just a few years earlier? If you could break it all the way down into a single word, it would be pure "Determination" that's led to the Mod Mom's Success that continues to grow to this day.

Like most "true entrepreneur's" out there, we are a stubborn bunch that does not like to take no for an answer. The saying "Failure is NOT An Option" is ingrained in one form or another into every successful person's subconscious mind to the point you will "ALWAYS" get the right answer if you only "Believe" that statement with every part of your being. Kiersten Hathcock is one of those rare individuals that have put this statement to the test on many different levels and to the point "Success Would Become the ONLY Option" from her sheer determination to succeed.

To see how far Hathcock and the Mod Mom Business has grown since being one of the first contestants featured in Season 2, I figured a good place to start would be with Her Shark Tank audition tape. The answers to a lot of questions where the Mod Mom Business was at the time is in this video which also clearly shows Kiersten's motivation and determination to accomplish one major goal.

Veggie Mama Snatched Away from Perpetuity

Veggie Mama Gets Deal on Shark Tank

If you follow the Shark Tank Success Blog you already know how I feel about offers on the Show involving royalty fees in perpetuity or for the life of that product. For the Sharks or any Angel Investor making a deal with this little addition to the terms of the contract, they now has you by the balls for the "life of that business'" and there's nothing you can ever do about it. A royalty fee in perpetuity basically guarantees the investor will be paid back in record time and continue to suck profits right off the top for the life of that businesses existence.

Kevin O'Leary is now starting to get famous for making such ridiculous offers that no entrepreneur in their right mind would ever except if they understood what they were getting themselves into. Once you see O'Leary make a royalty offer involving no equity now almost on a weekly basis, it's clear He's not necessarily trying to screw the business, but testing the business owners judgment for making correct decisions while under pressure of the Shark Tank Show. If any contestant ever does decide to take Kevin up on basically a Business "Shark Loan" that never ends like the Wicked Good Cupcakes did in Season 4, it's still possible for the entrepreneur to make a lot of money while adding to O'Leary's Fortune.

I have almost come to expect an offer from O'Leary like this when he's on the fence about investing in certain products, but still wants to throw some sort of offer on the table. But Lori Greiner and Robert Herjevic on the other hand, I would of never expected to make such an offer.

$400 Million Financial Advice From The Sharks

Financial Advice From All The Sharks

In light of last night's $400 million Power Ball Jackpot, a very wise and smart reporter who had access of all the Sharks still filming season 5, asks them for financial advice if you win the $400 million dollar prize. With a combined net worth estimated over $5 billion, all 6 of the Sharks on the Shark Tank Show took turns giving free financial advice.

When Mark Cuban was asked "what would your advice be if someone were to win the powerball?", with His reply being "put it in the bank" without even thinking about it. Mark goes on to say "whenever you get a large sum of money fast, then all kinds of things happen that you never anticipate". After settling up with Uncle Sam, you will also have a lot more Best Friends and a lot of people wanting to give you advise on how to spend all this money. Sure, if you just have your money sitting in the Bank you're not going to make any interest to speak of these days, but your money is "safe" and not going to disappear. Besides after taxes you will have around $200 million free and clear, so how much more money do you need to make in the short term anyway? Marks main advise is theirs only one goal and that's to "keep it". (Great Advice)

Daymond John's financial advice is if you win the lottery, #1 don't tell anyone

Shark Tank Season 5

Season 5 of the Shark Tank Show

Premieres Friday September 20, 2013 on ABC
Season 5 Sharks
Great news Shark Tank Fans! ABC has finally announced Season 5 of the Shark Tank Show will start in two months on 9/20/2013. Many people had predicted (including myself) the show would be moved this season to a more preferred time slot and a different day of the week with more potential viewers watching.

As it turns out the Shark Tank will keep it's familiar time slot @ 9 P.M. (eastern) on Friday Night's where it has dominated the rating's most of last season. I'm not sure why they would choose to keep one of their most Successful Shows on probably the worst night of the week, but then again new episodes have even made me change my plans to accommodate that time.

I would imagine having the Shark Tank air on Friday Night's instead of any other night of the week is might be that viewers have all weekend to visit the contestants websites.

You Smell Soap Update

You Smell Soap on Shark Tank

Luxury Soap - Season 3 Episode 301 Update
Megan Cummins on the Shark Tank
Robert Herjevic closes Deal with Megan Cummins
During the Shark Tank Show
The You Smell Soap Brand was started by Megan Cummins to bring new luxury soap into the market. What started out as a College project on custom packagin turned into the You Smell Soap Brand which she had two distinct scents made into 1200 bars of soap to test the market. She clearly states the company is in "Pre-Venture Stage" with no sales to speak of. The luxury soap was sent to different outlets around the world to test the market and come up with a price point for this luxury item. With several interested stores, Urban Outfitter's was the largest Company interested in perhaps carrying the You Smell Soap Brand.
You Smell Luxury Soap
Megan then brings out other invention which is You Smell Paper Soap. It's as you guessed it, soap on a convenient piece of paper and packaged as a convenient way to clean up, not to mention a great impulse buy sitting on store counters.

You Smell Soap Shark Tank Recap:

Megan came into the Shark Tank looking for a $55,000.00 investment in exchange for a 20% equity stake in the You Smell Soap Business. Mark Cuban is the first to offer a deal to  Cummins for exactly what she is looking for. He then tries to close the deal before any of the other Sharks can even make an offer.

Shark Tank Books

Books Written by the Sharks on the Shark Tank Show

Books written by the Shark Tank Investors  It really is amazing how reading the "right book's" can change your life forever. I can still remember when I was given my first copy of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, when I was only 14 years old and just won an award for a MLM company I was involved with. When I was walking off the stage, one of the highest ranking associates in the room handed me his copy of the book and simply said "I believe this belongs to you". Not really being much of a reader before that time, I must of read it cover to cover at least a dozen times until the pages started falling out.

Yes, a good book really can change your life even if it's only a single new idea that triggers something in your mind to think a little differently. That one new way of thinking that may be the very road block keeping you from where you "really" want to go. Finding a mentor in the types of books you read can pay huge dividends IF you choose to take their advise and learn what made them successful.

If your a Shark Tank Fan and love learning about the Sharks and what it took them to get to the top in their professions, then what better way too learn then reading their books. Now if your a future contestant on the Shark Tank or have any plans of doing so, then this could also be considered required reading to learn as much about your future business partner(s). It really is in your best interest to learn as much about all the Shark's as you can before going on the Show.Read More Here-->>>

Shark Tank Final Numbers Season 4

Shark Tank Facts For Season 4

How Much Did The Sharks Invest?

The totals are in for Season 4 and as Kevin O'Leary would say, "The numbers do not lie". Once again Mark Cuban dominated in the Shark Tank in all three main categories including the total number of investments, the amount invested for all Sharks and the most personally invested out of their own pocket.
The biggest surprise of Season 4 was Barbara Corcoran and Lori Greiner's Shark Tank Seat they share throughout the Season. When combined, our Lady Sharks dominated all the other Sharks in new Investments. All the Sharks except one invested at least a million dollars of their own money. Robert Herjevic takes last place this year by a wide margin in just about every category, while Kevin O'Leary makes a strong finish in the season finale after writing a million dollar check that drastically helped out his entire season.

If you would like to see exactly what each Shark invested in, just click on the Sharks name below for a complete list of each new business that they are now part owners in.

Sharks on the Shark Tank Season 4

Who's your Favorite Shark on the Shark Tank?

season 4 shark tank show
Who's Your Favorite Shark On The
Shark Tank Show?
So who is your favorite Shark from the Shark Tank? Mine? This year's show was quite different from the other seasons and as a result my opinion may have changed changed just a bit. Right now I would have to say it's both Daymond John (He's the only Shark that Follows us on Twitter) and Lori Greiner who has been very active talking and re-tweeting about the Shark Tank Success Blog. I Do Very Much Appreciate them giving their approval for this blog. A little biased in my opinion? We'll maybe just a little :') But it's hard to argue they both have made some terrific deals this past season and every contestant that I can find that made deals with either of them, are very happy indeed.

If I was to choose who I would most like to make a deal with

Smart Wheel Technology
The Smart Wheel was invented by 6 very smart teens from New Hampshire that are on a mission to Stop Driving While Texting. What started out as a project to compete in the First Lego League Competition that they eventually won, is now in a position to save lives if they can convince the Sharks that the Smart Wheel is worthy of an investment. The Smart Wheel (Safe Motorist Alert for Restricting Texting) fits right over the steering wheel and has built-in sensors that goes off if you take one of your hands off the wheel, thus making it impossible to Text while driving. If warned too many times, the Smart Wheel will send a text message to the parents notifying them on their kids driving habits.

What makes this soon to be Success Story so unique is the fact the 6 teens did not stop with just the invention of the Smart Wheel but they have continued to evolve

Power Decal's

Power Decal on Shark Tank Show

Wireless Light Up Power Decals - Season 1 - Episode 15 - Update

Make a deal with Daymond John on Shark Tank Show The Power Decal is one of those inventions that you just know will succeed if marketed and licensed properly. A peel off sticker that lights up from a solar power source, ya that's a cool invention alright. George Podd and Rolf Schwartz went into the Shark Tank very confident with their product they called Light Film that has since been renamed and re-branded as Power Decal. The Power Decal has a motion sensor built into the light up decal which brightly displays the sticker.

George Podd and Rolf Schwartz was asking $100k for a 5% stake in their patented Power Decals which put the valuation at $2 million. They demonstrated a generation 1 Power Decal that was hooked up to a wired power source (a battery) to light up the peel and stick sticker. They quickly pointed out that the generation 2 Power Decals would be wireless and solar powered which got a lot more interest from the Sharks. Podd, the inventor of the Power Decal, had zero in sales and has already sank $750k into this invention. They can make the generation 2 Power Decals for $5 or less and retail's for $19.99 which is a decent profit margin in any ones book.  Everything is ready to go and all they need is the licensing deals to make the Power Decal a huge success.

Season 1 Shark Tank List
The first Sharks on the Shark Tank Show
Original Shark Tank Sharks from Season 1
The Shark Tank Show first launched in 2009 with mixed reviews as it was trying to find it's own Niche.
With the success of the Dragons Den already shown in Canada, the first two Sharks Kevin O'Leary and Robert Herjevic, were also hired to get this new show off the ground. Season 2 was even a little bumpier with talk that they might even cancel the Shark Tank altogether.
But the show really started to catch on in season 3 and by season 4, it is now the # 1 rated T.V. Show on Friday Night Prime Time.

As with all successful T.V. Shows, it all comes back to when it first began and which makes each and every contestant from season 1 True Stars in their own right for paving the way.

Below is a list of all 15 episodes that were Featured in Season 1. How successful are these companies now? Are they even still in business or have they gone on to become multi-millionaires?

Watch (buy) Season 1 Episode 1

  • WiSpots - Kevin Flannery was asking for $1.2 Million for 10% of the business. The Sharks never even gave him a chance let alone any kind of offer.
  • AVA The Elephant - Tiffany Krumins didn't have a product or a service, but just an idea. An idea that struck gold when Barbara offered her $50,000.00 and a 55% controlling interest in her idea.
